Take on the Run 57 challenge

Run 57 miles in August to help make wishes come true for critically ill children, before it’s too late.

Every day around 57 children are diagnosed with a critical illness. With your help we can grant hundreds of wishes to children who have a critical illness, many of who have less than a year to live. Support these children now to help us create magical memories, no matter what the future holds.

That’s why we’re running 57 miles in August.

Join us this summer and help bring joy to a critically ill child with each mile you run. Remember, you can run the miles at your pace, in your time, wherever you wish.

Why we need you to run 57 miles this August

Sadly, the number of wish enquiries from seriously ill children with less than a year to live is rising fast. We need your help to meet this urgent demand now - before it’s too late. So, get active this August and make a real difference.

We can’t wait to see you in the group and would love you to invite all your friends and family too - it’s always more fun taking part together.

Your support can make a wish come true now for more children like Oliver...

Wish child, Oliver in his hospital bed during treatment, with a cuddly toy next to him.

A diagnosis of a rare genetic disorder has left three-year-old Oliver with a short and uncertain prognosis. ‘We were told that he could die imminently,’ said mum Lia. But Mum wanted Oliver to have something fun and relaxing, and a spa pool would provide him with a piece of relaxation that his family could watch him enjoy. The family could create memories of Oliver at a time when every moment counts.

"We love to just sit and watch him relax and give him so much more comfort when he’s been through so much pain. We know that our time with Oliver may be short, but Make-A-Wish UK has helped us make incredible memories as a family that we couldn’t make on our own. I don’t know how to thank everyone enough for what you have given us."
